Wooden rectangular sushi press to make oshi sushi. The sushi press is called an oshiburi. Soak the wooden press in water for 20 mins prior to prevent the rice sticking.


Fill the oshiburi with layers of sushi rice and your favourite fillings. Press firmly with the top piece of wood. This wooden sushi press has knife grooves for slicing your oshi sushi into perfectly even pieces.


Dimentions: 7cm wide, 24cms long, 4 cms deep (outside). 4cm wide, 21cms long, 4cms deep (inside)

Prawn and Cucumber Squares




Ingredients




  • 340g rice

  • Cooked prawns

  • 1/2 cucumber

  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

  • 30g chopped pickled ginger






METHOD




How to make prawn and cucumber squares 


1. Cook 340g rice in 375ml water.


2. Lay 20 halved, flattened, large, cooked prawns in diagonal rows in a 27cm x 18cm cake tin lined with cling film. Cut 1/2 cucumber into strips and lay between the prawns.


3. Mix 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds and 30g chopped pickled ginger into the rice. Press firmly in an even layer in the tin.


4. Chill for 1 hour or overnight. Turn out so the prawns are on top. Cut into 24 squares.
