ムDaikonメ is Japanese for Great Root. Takuan has a sweet, crisp taste with a satisfying crunch.
Takuan can be eaten both as a side pickle, in salads, incorporated in a whole host of hot meals, such as hotpots and simmered dishes and can also be included in sushi rolls. Small hosomaki sushi rolls that contain exclusivly takuan are known as Oshinko Maki or Japanese Pickle sushi roll.
