Shaoxing wine is the Chinese equivalent of cooking sake. Unlike Japanese cooking sake, however, Shaoxing has a darker caramel colour. It is traditionally used in Chinese meat dishes as it adds a deep flavour. Try adding some to your favourite stir-fry. This wine does not have added seasonings, so it can also be enjoyed as a drink.
