Shichimi Togarishi is a commonly used Japanese 7-spice blend that typically includes red chili pepper, roasted orange peel, yellow and black sesame seeds, Japanese pepper, seaweed, and ginger. It is served in many Japanese restaurants as a condiment including chains like Wagamama and Tampopo.
"Shichimi" means "seven flavours", usually used to add flavour to home-made meals or to sprinkle on inside out sushi rolls. Try using Schichimi Togarishi to flavour soups, noodles or yakitori BBQ style skewers.
Put a few sprinkles of this on your noodle dishes such as udon or ramen to really bring out the taste of your Japanese food. Yum!
