Eslen, Sushi Rice Container, Body Only, 20L
The Eslen 20L insulated rice box on its own, body only. The lid is sold separately.
This is the 20L container body from the Eslen sushi rice box, moulded in Japan by Sekisui from expanded polystyrene. It holds a full batch of seasoned shari and slows heat loss so the rice stays near skin temperature through service. It comes without a lid: the matching Eslen 20L lid is sold separately, and if you need both, the container and lid set costs less than buying the two apart.
Why Chefs Choose This
- Holds temperature: thick expanded polystyrene walls slow heat loss, so seasoned rice stays warm far longer than in an open tub
- A full batch in one box: 20L means fewer trips back to the rice cooker in the middle of service
- Light, rigid and easy to clean: moulded in one piece, quick to wipe down between batches
- Body only: for a kitchen that already has the lid, or wants a second body to rotate through service
How to Use
- Hold seasoned shari: transfer freshly seasoned rice in while warm and keep it covered between orders
- Damp cloth on top: lay a clean, damp cloth over the rice under the lid to stop the surface drying
- Work in trays: the separate tray inserts stack inside, so you can prep rice in stages
- Fit the lid: the insulation works with the Eslen 20L lid fitted; this listing does not include it

Is the lid included?
No. This listing is the container body only. The matching Eslen 20L lid is sold separately, and the container and lid set is the better buy if you need both.
Does the container keep sushi rice warm?
It insulates rather than heats. The expanded polystyrene walls slow heat loss, so rice that goes in warm stays close to body temperature for far longer than it would in an open or thin-walled box, as long as the lid is on. It is not a powered warmer.
How do you clean and care for the container?
Hand wash with warm water and a mild detergent, then dry before storing. Avoid abrasive scourers and harsh chemicals, which can scratch or break down the polystyrene surface over time.
