In Japan, sesame oil (goma abura) is a popular cooking oil that is used in a variety of dishes. It is made from roasted sesame seeds and has a distinctive nutty flavour and aroma.
Commonly used in cuisine to enhance the flavour of other ingredients. It is used in stir-fries, marinades, salad dressings, and dipping sauces, and can also be used as a finishing oil to add a nutty flavour to dishes! It is also great as a salad dressing or as part of a dip!
With sesame oil a little goes a long way so use it sparingly. Sesame oil can also be blended with vegetable oil and used for deep frying things like tempura as many tempura bars do in Japan. We also offer la-yu chilli oil which is nice when added to ramen noodles to add spice and colour to the dish.
