This Mino ware bowl measures 95 x 95mm and 30mm high and has a pouring lip. Japanese potters call this shape katakuchi. The amber and Oribe green glazes run into each other, so each piece has its own mix of warm brown and green.

Katakuchi (片口), meaning one mouth, is a traditional Japanese vessel with a single spout, used to pour sauces and sake and also served from as a bowl. Oribe (織部) is the copper-green glaze most closely tied to Mino. It takes its name from Furuta Oribe, the warrior and tea master whose bold taste shaped Mino pottery at the end of the sixteenth century, and it fires to a glassy green that pools deeper where the glaze runs thick. Here it runs with an amber glaze for a warmer finish.
What is a katakuchi bowl used for?
A katakuchi is a bowl with a spout. Larger ones are used to decant sake; smaller ones like this, at 95 x 95 x 30mm, suit sauces and dressings you want to pour at the table. It also works as an ordinary small bowl, and the spout gives it a more interesting silhouette.

Will the drip pattern look the same as the photo?
It will be similar, not identical. Where amber meets green, the glazes mix differently in every firing, so each bowl has its own pattern. Size and shape are consistent.
Is it dishwasher and microwave safe?
We are waiting on the maker's care guidance and will add it here before the stock lands, so we are not going to guess. Until it arrives, hand washing in warm soapy water with a soft sponge is the safe choice for glazed Japanese tableware. Let it dry fully before stacking or putting it away.
