Nori is dried, pressed edible seaweed, best known as the wrapper for sushi and maki. It also crisps into a snack, finishes rice and noodles, and lifts soups and stews with a clean, smoky flavour.
It looks simple. It is not. Grade depends on the harvest, the press and the maker, and it shows in the colour, the shine and the snap. Higher grades are darker, glossier and crisper, with a cleaner taste.
We stock full sheets, half sheets and several grades from different Japanese makers, so you can match the nori to the job and the budget. Roll-grade for daily service, top-grade for the pass.
