Yamazaki Mochi Rice 2kg
あぐりもち米 2kg
This large bag of Mochi Rice (short-grain glutinous) is a slightly sweet sticky rice that can be eaten in both sweet and savoury dishes. Grown in Ibaraki North of Tokyo. The old name for this prefecture is Hitachi.
Mochi rice is also used to make the traditional Japanese rice cake... Mochi! Using only two ingredients: water and mochigome (mochi rice), that is broken down and formed into the desired shape. Traditionally in Japan, making mochi was a way to bring families together, creating a bond and wishes of prosperity.
Yamazaki mochi rice is carefully grown and processed to ensure that it has the perfect texture and consistency for making mochi. It is typically rinsed several times to remove excess starch and then soaked in water for several hours or overnight before cooking. It is then cooked in a rice cooker or on the stovetop using the appropriate amount of water.
Its unique texture and consistency make it a popular choice among professional mochi makers and home cooks alike, and its consistent quality ensures that every batch of mochi is delicious and perfectly cooked!
Keep out of direct sunlight and keep at room temperature.
