Designed by Hiroshi Numata, the world Sake-Somelier champion 2019. Tokyo Z1 Sake is a premium Honjozo sake that is perfect for general food pairing. With an alcohol content of 15%. It comes in a perfect tasting-size 180ml bottle. Brewed by the 300 year old Ozawa brewery in Tokyo.
Tokyo Z1 Honjozo sake is best served slightly chilled like a white wine around 8-12°C. But is also delicious as a warm sake served around 40-50°C.
Tokyo Z1 Honjozo is dry, clear and crisp in taste. The sake is clear, water-white in colour. It has light intensity with aromas of cereal (rice flour, porridge), dairy (fresh cheese), and sweetness (candy floss). This well-balanced sake is off-dry with medium acidity, mid umami levels, medium alcohol taste, and medium body. It has gentle flavour intensity with notes of cereal (rice flour, rice crackers), dairy (fresh cheese). The finish is also medium with crisp “kire”.
Pairs with most food, but is particularly good with raw oysters, boiled lobster, green salad, spicy dishes, and fresh cheeses. This sake brings out the natural flavour in the ingredients of the dishes.
